“My work is a love letter to light.”
As a painter, I strive to capture those fleeting, luminous moments that often go unnoticed — a street bathed in golden afternoon light, shadows stretching across a garden wall, or a quiet corner of a park just before dusk.
Growing up in the mountains of Transylvania, I developed a deep respect for nature’s subtleties — how light transforms a familiar place into something new, even poetic. Though I now live and work in the UK, that early sensitivity continues to shape my creative lens.
I am largely self-taught, guided by observation, intuition, and the conviction that great painting lies not in meticulous detail, but in how light and color breathe across a surface. Each brushstroke is a decision made in response to a real moment — often made quickly, but with intention. I paint alla prima — wet into wet — to preserve that sense of energy and immediacy.
My influences range from the Impressionists to contemporary outdoor painters, but my goal is simple: to share a moment of stillness, wonder, or memory with the viewer. I believe that even the most ordinary streets, trees, or rooftops — when painted with honesty — can become luminous and meaningful.
Above all, I paint to remind myself, and others, that beauty often exists in plain sight — if we just take the time to look.
